Connecting People. Meeting Needs. Sharing Christ.
Helping Students Learn, One Meal at a Time.
TRAIN • SHEPHERD • WITNESS
Train
We believe lasting change comes through teaching people skills they can carry forward. Whether through education, agriculture, livelihood opportunities, leadership development, or practical training, our goal is not simply to give—it is to help people grow in their ability to provide, lead, and serve others.
Shepherd
We believe ministry is built through relationships. We walk alongside individuals, families, students, churches, and communities—listening to their needs, encouraging them through difficult seasons, and helping where we can. Shepherding means caring for the whole person and being present for more than just a single project.
Witness
Everything we do ultimately points back to Jesus Christ. Food, medicine, clean water, education, and practical assistance open doors for relationships, but our greatest hope is that people will experience the love of Christ through both our words and our actions.
Train. Shepherd. Witness.
Three simple words that guide how Jesus Connecting the Dots serves.
Meals that Matter
Our feeding program began with a simple goal: help students stay nourished so they can focus on learning. Working alongside local schools, JCD provides food and supplies while teachers, parents, and volunteers prepare and serve the meals—often cooking over an open fire with the resources available to them.
Today, we are providing more than 3,000 meals each month, and we are working to expand into additional schools and communities. Our goal is to grow the program to more than 10,000 meals every month, reaching children who may otherwise go through the school day without enough to eat.
Every meal is simple, practical, and made possible by people working together. A full stomach can make a real difference in a child's ability to learn, grow, and finish the school day.
Food Ready When It’s Needed Most
Through our partnership with Ontario Christian Gleaners, JCD receives dehydrated food that can be stored and distributed to communities throughout Mindoro. The food is made from donated surplus vegetables and other ingredients that are carefully prepared, dehydrated, and packaged to provide nutritious meals with a long shelf life.
Once rehydrated and cooked, the vegetable mixes can be used in soups, stews, rice dishes, and other meals. Local cooks can add rice, meat, seasonings, or other available ingredients, allowing the food to become part of meals that families are already accustomed to eating.
Because the food can be stored until it is needed, it gives JCD an important resource for feeding programs, hospitals, remote communities, and families facing times of hardship or emergency. When a need arises, we can have food ready to go instead of waiting for help to arrive.
For us, these boxes represent more than food on a shelf. They give us the ability to respond when people need help most.
Helping Students See a Brighter Future
Something as simple as being able to see the classroom clearly can make a tremendous difference in a student's education. Through JCD's partnership with UVisions, we have been able to provide vision screenings and eyeglasses to students who may not otherwise have access to them.
Using the UVisions system, students can be tested at their school and matched with glasses that help correct their vision. For many families in the communities we serve, traveling for an eye exam or purchasing glasses can be difficult or simply unaffordable.
Providing a pair of glasses may seem like a small thing, but for a student who has struggled to see the board, read a book, or complete schoolwork, clear vision can open a whole new world of opportunity.
““We believe the greatest impact happens when we work alongside the community—not simply for them. Teachers, parents, volunteers, churches and donors each bring something to the table. JCD helps connect those pieces.”
